Meet Phil and Gerri, an engaged couple living in Denver. They met for the first time at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany while Phil was visiting and Gerri was living and working in the Bavarian capital city. After starting their relationship, Phil moved to Munich and the couple spent the next several years there. Now they’re back in the United States, and chose Denver as their place to settle because it reminds them of Munich in many ways. Guess which local establishment reminds them most of the festive Bavarian culture they love so much? Prost Brewing, of course! They even love Prost so much that they chose to have their wedding reception in our taproom. These are the kinds of great people you may meet while celebrating Oktoberfest with us this weekend.
There’s still so much fun to be had at Prost Brewing this Oktoberfest season, including great live German music, German cuisine, and excellent German-style bier. The Märzen Oktoberfest, our fall seasonal, is flowing for all who want to enjoy a delicious, malty, authentic taste of Bavarian fall culture. Our Märzen pours a deep copper color with a thick head of white foam. An aroma of toasty, bready malt is followed by well-balanced flavors of Vienna and Munich malt, with low hop bitterness. The malt profile is certainly prominent, but sweetness is kept in check in this clean, well-attenuated lager. This bier is the quintessential beverage of the Oktoberfest season, and it’s the only truly authentic version you’ll find in the Denver area.
